Okay, let’s just say it.

Some toys are simply so cute.

Period.

The one I am thinking about is called the Green Toys Farm Playset.  It has around 13 pieces to help imaginative play.

There are pigs, cows, bales of hay and a tractor and a cute, red barn with working doors.

But what makes it absolutely so cute are the two yellow farmer cows.

The toys is wonderfully simple.

It will encourage communication, interactive play and social skills. And because it doesn’t beep, buzz or light up, it relies on the imagination of the child to drive its fun.

In a world where so much is simply presented to our children, there is something to be said for a simple toy.

I know Emily and I used to have so much fun playing dress up or cook.  I loved the act of simply “BEing” with my children.  Elizabeth is my daughter with special needs and as such so many of  simple skills were challenging for her, so a toy that was simple fit well.

She has sensory processing disorder (SPD) and dyspraxia so toys like this one, with smooth surfaces and easy to use pieces would have been successful for her.  And being that she struggled with language, any toy that encouraged language and interactions would have been a nice fit too!

I know that sometimes the simplest things are hard work for our special needs children, so finding toys or items that challenge them but not to the point of giving up is a big thing.  So this toy and others like it on our site would be options to take a look at.

I think loading and unloading the truck, working the doors of the barn and talking about the different animal sounds would all be good “work” for a child.  As would talking about the colors and counting the animals.

And it is made our of 100% recycled plastic and is BPA free.   For those whose kids get toys pretty dirty and I am raising my hand here too, everything is dishwasher safe.

So take a look and see what you think.

I wish everyone a peaceful week.
